Career:
As a child artiste Richa made her debut in the film Lamhe (1991) and Pardes (1997). She appeared in modeling when she was 16 years old. She has done near about five hundred TVC. She also appeared in music videos named Yaad Piya Ki Aane Lagi and Piya Se Mil Ke Aaye Nain which was directed by Falguni Pathok. As a leading role,Richa made her debut in the Telugu film, Nuvve Kavali (2000), opposite Tarun. It was a romantic film and got huge success and positively reviews. Richa achieved the Filmfare Best Telugu Actress Award for 2000.
She made her debut in Tamil cinema with famous hero Vijoy in the film of Shajahan. Here she played the main heroine. In this film her acting was really appreciated by critics and she offer her second Tamil film named Alli Arjuna. The director of this film was Manoj Bharathiraja. As a senior artist she appeared her first bollywood film with Fardeen Khan in the movie of Kuch Tum Kaho Kuch Hum Kahein. It was family based romantic movie failure in box office. It was a family based romantic movie but due to lack of promotion of the movie, it could not achieve its expected results. In the next two years, she signed couple of bollywood movies. But most of the films were low-budget projects and did not fare well at the box office. As well as bollywood films, she got the offers low budgets Kannada films also and it was failed commercially. Next Richa appeared in Yashraj Films‘ Neal ‘N’ Nikki, with Uday Chopra and Tanisha. She played the role of Sweety. But this movie failed disastrously. As a result, directors and producers did not consider her as leading role and she was appeared as a supporting role in the movie of Unakkum Enakkum. After marriage she took herself away from showbiz. She came back the industry again through some TVC. Though she was brilliant actress at her time but no one can utilize her talent effectively and efficiently.
